It is almost November again and already the forums are flooded with eager participants practically foaming at the mouth to get started. What am I talking about? NaNoWriMo, of course. A crazy 30 day adventure that challenges you to write 50 000 words in a single month.
Daunting? Perhaps. Fun? Like you wouldn't believe!
It's an anti-contest writing contest, where the judges are missing, the prizes are lousy, and writers and non-writers alike have the time of their lives bashing out surprisingly unhorrible books in an absurdly short amount of time.
Thousands of people from all over the world take part each year and South Africans are not shy about joining in on the fun. We have a fantastically supportive participant base with new players trickling in every year. With Municipal Liaisons spread from Gauteng to the Cape, there might just be a kick off party or a write-in happening in your area. You will definitely not be alone in this crazy undertaking.
If you sign up, remember to set your home region to South Africa so you can access our regional lounge and meet everyone else who will be slaving away over their computers (or notebooks) this coming summer.
